In an online symposium hosted by the Mekin Academic Center for Conferences Sustainable Studies & Scientific Consultations participants explored the role of artificial intelligence and its applications across developed nations, executive Director Dr. Chetin Raouf Mahmoud stressed that advanced digital infrastructure forms the real foundation for implementing smart-learning technologies in world-class universities.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Amir Jasib Head of the English Department at the College of Education Ibn Rushd University highlighted pioneering experiences in AI-powered language teaching noting that adaptive programs can markedly raise student performance and enhance learning outcomes.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Thamer Al-Asafi a department head at the Open College in Anbar discussed building interactive educational content that links AI with augmented reality to give students practical experiences mirroring future work environments.
Dr. Ali Faleh emphasized aligning Iraqi curricula with international standards adding that embedding predictive and analytic algorithms in student assessment could help reduce learning gaps.
Closing the session Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Galak Dean of the College of Computer Sciences at the University of Kirkuk affirmed that cooperation between research centers and industry is the optimal path to turn AI-based ideas into sustainable educational solutions that boost the global competitiveness of Iraqi universities.
The symposium concluded with recommendations to adopt university policies that support investment in digital infrastructure develop staff competencies in AI tools and launch joint initiatives with renowned international universities for knowledge exchange and applied research.
