During the meeting, the President of Baba Gurgur University, Prof. Mohsen Omar Mohammed Al-Shawani, received an official delegation that included Director of the Kirkuk Water Resources Directorate, Eng. Zaki Karim Ahmed, Lt. Gen. Sami Jalal Hassan and Head of Mekin Academic Center for Conferences, Sustainable Studies & Scientific Consultations, Dr. Cetin Raouf.
The Center reviewed that the delegation extended their congratulations to the University President, wishing him success in his leadership role in serving the academic and educational mission of the governorate.
The Mekin addressed the frameworks of scientific and institutional cooperation between Mekin Academic Center and Baba Gurgur University in the fields of scientific research, academic consulting, and sustainable development projects, as well as highlighting the importance of coordination with the Water Resources Directorate to develop applied programs that serve the local community and strengthen the integration between academic expertise and service-oriented needs.
The Center demonstrated that the both sides also reviewed the launch of a comprehensive program of scientific seminars and advanced training courses to be offered by Mekin Academic Center in collaboration with the university, these programs will cover sustainability, resource management, digital transformation, academic quality, and faculty development, as well as expanding its academic services inside Iraq and abroad, while supporting educational institutions in building a sustainable research environment aligned with international standards.
The Mekin affirmed that this visit represents a significant step toward establishing strategic scientific partnerships that contribute to enhancing the capabilities of universities and institutions and promoting professional practices across vital sectors, particularly the water resources sector.
